When I discovered the wheel suitcase, it was as though I had a revelation. For a long time I would use a regular shoulder bag when I went away. I travel rather frequently with work so my shoulders took a beating. Not only my shoulders, my back also took a load as well.
A weekend bag does look cool though; I won’t stop using them when the occasion calls for it. But when my brain told me: “Hey why don’t you also get one of those?” I thought it sounded like an intriguing idea. So my brain and I had a short discussion and we went and picked one up. And it was the best thing I’ve done since breakfast this morning. It also proves that my brain still works.
The great thing is that all you need to do is push the bag along the ground – no more sore shoulders! And you also feel pretty important sliding that thing around. “That dude has a rolling suitcase, he is heading somewhere.” See what I mean? Walking around with a weekend bag doesn’t quite cut it, but sometimes that is pretty cool too though. This week I’ll be heading south for work, to write a piece about a factory in Sweden. I won’t say for what company because than it isn’t exciting anymore. Let’s just say it’s one of the world’s most well known brands. And for that trip I will be taking a shoulder bag, so no rolly bag this time. It’s just not the right occasion I guess!
Also, how you pack has a lot to do with the bag to use. It’s the content that counts! See, even the inside is important here! If you pack light, then the weekend bag will do. If you pack heavy then a bag with wheels is the one to use. But actually I’ll be packing semi-heavy for this outing, but it’s only a daytrip. That’s why I’ll be using the shoulder bag! What’s your favourite bag?
